Pagosa Fiber Festival

Hi!
Just wanted to take a minute and update what is going on with workshops for Pagosa Fiber Festival in May.  May?  Ya, well, planning has to be now or there will be nothing in May.
Deb Robson won't be coming this year, but she will give a workshop in 2013. Plan for it!!! But for 2012, we have Galina Skaska coming with a workshop on three different ways to make a russian lace shawl, Liz Moncrief will be doing rigid heddle work and a lotions class, Mary Alvarado is coming to do recycling fibers (usually old clothing, but I can picture other things...)into sculptures with mirrors, Roy Kady plans a cinch belt class, and there are several other workshops as well. These are confirmed, not wishes! We will also have two diverse felting classes, two classes related to dyeing, a spindle spinning class and a few others. Do go to the PFF website in January to see all the information and download applications. Vendor applications will be there then as well.
We need volunteers for a large variety of things, so let us know if you are interested in helping out.
We need demonstrations for Saturday and Sunday also. Anyone want to demo spinning on a wheel? Use of a triangle loom?  Do a children's class, all materials provided?  Share a knitting technique? Card? Ply? Or something else??? Trying to get the public educated to the wonders of all the magical fibers on these two days.
The competitions will be there again under categories of handwoven, fleeces, knit/crochet and spinning. We  have experienced, certified, and extremely competent judges for all categories. There will be lovely medals to be won again this year. I hope to see more fleeces entered and creative objects in all the other categories.
So let me know if you would like to demo or volunteer or have questions or ideas. Together we can all make this the best Pagosa Fiber Festival ever!
